Synergy 2024 is an event dedicated to the creative use of the ZX Spectrum, happening 4-5 May 2024 in Cantanhede, Portugal. It will feature international guests, demoscene competitions and creative workshops. It is organized by Associação Inércia and the Load ZX Spectrum Museum in collaboration with Município de Cantanhede.

We have several talks planned to happen on different topics related to ZX Spectrum. Bridging topics of classic ZX Spectrum videogames, modern ZX Spectrum videogame modding and development, hardware projects related to the ZX Spectrum and the demoscene. Please check the timetable and the list of our guest speakers to know what exactly is taking place!

The Demoscene is an international computer art subculture focused on producing so-called demos: self-contained, sometimes extremely small, computer programs that display audiovisual content. The purpose of a demo is to show off programming, visual art, and musical skills.

At Synergy 2024 we will have several demoscene activities promoted by Associação Inércia:

• * Screening of previously released demoscene works.
• * Screening of new works submitted exclusively for Synergy 2024 (we invite you to participate).
• * Visuals livecoding session using ZX Spectrum Z80 Assembler code (with Bazematic).
• * Workshops to teach you how to write code, music or draw graphics targetting the ZX Spectrum.

The event will take place at the Load ZX Museum, in Cantanhede.

Closest international airports are in Porto and Lisbon, closest main trainline and long distance busses is Coimbra. Transdev buses from Coimbra to Cantanhede are the most direct way to reach Cantanhede by public transport.

We will also have a free sleeping hall in a location close to the venue, which you can use if you bring your sleeping matress etc.

Even if you can't make it in person, we will livestream the event on twitch/youtube. Information will be updated on the website when the event starts.
